It is getting close to the end of the semester and it is kind of bittersweet to me. I cannot wait to finish all of my work and leave for our glorious break. And i cannot wait to spend time with people at home and i love christmas. However, i really enjoy my friends here and i am truly going to miss them. I think i might plan a road trip to see some of them over the break so it isnt too bad but i assume that many have things to do over break so it will be hard to plan. I know that i am going to Lake Placid one of the weeks over break which will be fun. Either way the break will be really nice and i am excited.
My Buffalo Sabres just keep rolling through teams. They have a 20-4-2 record and are in 2nd place in the NHL because they haven't played as many games as Anaheim. The whole team is playing well though. I mean they played shaky against Washington but still put up 4 goals. Tonight they play the Tampa Bay Lightning and i am pretty confident we will bounce back from the loss and win. This team is without a doubt going to the playoffs, yes it is early in an 82- game season but they are killing teams and i dont think anyone can stop them. Of course they will lose more games it is too long of a season to not lose. But at this point i would bet on them doing well this season and in the playoffs; besides i want them to. We will see though. Leave a comment if you agree that the Buffalo Sabres are NASTY!
Now that i am back here in Cortland, everything is pretty much the same. But practice for hockey is gonna be intense. This weekend we have a tournament and we all want to win. I am pretty pumped myself, because i am playing in one of the games. I cant wait and it is going to be really intense. This will be only my second start of my career here so i need to be on top of my game. I work hard in practice everyday and during games i have been known to play even harder. I just want to win and prove that i will be able to replace Lasky, one of the starting goalies that is leaving this weekend due to graduation. He was a greta mentor and a good friend. He will be missed by everyone so i really need to prove myself. That is about all for now, i will update you on the game.
Thanksgiving break was awesome. When i first arrived at home i got to see my two best friends in the world. That night i stayed at one of their houses because i was going to high school with him. It was pretty cool, i know this is going to seem cocky and arrogant but i am a legend in my high school; so it was good for me to back because everyone that wanted to see me could see me and i didnt really have to do anything. After school we went to get some food before class for hockey. Now that sounds odd but our high school team has class for hockey. Here the team learns about what forechecks we are gonna run, along with special teams and stuff like that. Anyways, after class we went to practice and i got to skate with my old team. It was really fun. That night i went over to another one of my friends houses and watched the sabres game and that was really fun because we all love the sabres and i havent watched a game with my friends for a really long time. Wednesday i was supposed to go with my friends to MCC but i had to pick up my glasses so i couldn't do that but we hung out later that day after practice (i went again). Thursday arrived and i had the greatest meal of my life. It was all good and i got to play with my cousin and talk to my family. We had it at my uncles house this year and it is really nice so that was fun too. Friday i went to the high school hockey game and saw all kinds of people. I had to talk to so many of them i could barely watch the game. i even knew a lot of people from the other team. Once again, i am a legend; what can i say. That night i went to the Rochester Amerks game with some of my guys and girls. That was fun because i havent seen a live game in like a year and the people i was with made it fun. That night we just hung out and went to ice skating at Brockport college but there was no one there and we left. Saturday i spent the whole day at the mall with my parents, it was fun because we did some shopping and i havent done that in a while either. That night i went to spend a little more time with my friends before i went back to school and we had a lot of fun. Sunday i didnt do much, i juust had to get ready to come back to good old SUNY Cortland. That was my Thanksgiving break, I had fun and did a lot of things. Hope you had a good Thanksgiving to.
Now I know that i havent posted in a long time, however it is because i have planned these out before hand and i am now putting them onto this blog. Nothing much has been going on. Thanksgiving break is coming up and i am really excited. One reason is i cant wait to see my family and friends. I have tight relationships with many people back home and i can't wait to see them. Also, i can't wait for a good homecooked meal, whether it is thanksgiving dinner or not. One of the problems though about being this excited is that i cannot wait to be back. I have so many things to do that week that i can't stop thinking about it. It is almost so bad i can't sleep. But i guess it will come soon enough and i wont have to worry about that. Have a Happy Thanksgiving.

November 7th was a day to go down in history. At least for a month or two. I bought Guitar Hero 2 on its release date. Now if you read my blog on Guitar Hero 1 you understand. This game is awesome. It is just as cool as the first one and better. The new characters, gameplay and other features are just stellar. The new songs are awesome as well. I am playing it like mad. My fingers are beginning to cramp and my hand hurting as if im playing a real guitar. I have also developed some significant plans to enhance my guitar experience by selling my Guitar Hero 1 package and then buying the Guitar Hero 1 disc and a WIRELESS FLYING V guitar. And if you cant tell the all caps means excitement and amazing value. I am almost too pumped to even be thinking about a third version. If they do i will go crazy. But for now i will deal with my kick A$$ Guitar Hero 2 version. Seriously I recommend that you go and buy it.
Recently I discovered a sports column blog online. It talks about the world of sports to a specific point. It breaks down all of the proffessional and collegiate sports. Also, each article is tagged to even more specific titles. Today, I was looking at the beginning evaluations of the new season. I learned what teams were hot and what teams have been cold. I then took a look at the Buffalo Sabres tag and found out information dealing with them. I learned that amost 30,000 people have signed a petittion against the new logo. I mean I knew people didnt like it but i didnt know these kinds of numbers. It was a very informative blog. I learned the authors opinions and evaluations on the teams and the league. I personally think I will continue to look at this blog because I can get a solid amount of information. I mean you have your ESPN articles but I looked at this blog and learned about things that happened last season in the playoffs that I never even heard of. It is up to date and locally based for every team., so each evaluation comes from the people who watch the teams the most. If you want to take a look search technorati.com for NHL AND sports. I am pretty sure the site is called sports column blog. So if you like take a look at sportscolumnblog.com and get started.

I am so excited. this weekend i am going home to play hockey (finally). what is even more sweet is two of my floormates are coming home with me. liz and danielle are coming to visit for the weekend, to visit SUNY Brockport for one of there friends, to hang out with me and my friends and to watch me play hockey. I think it is going to be a blast and so do they so it will be a good weekend, plus i can go home without really missing anything. And 2 of my friends (1 is my roomate) are from rochester also, so we might hang out with them. so all in all it is gonna be a killer weekend.
Recently my girlfriend and i have broke up. The distance and temptations from our locations have caused us to drift from each other. I am sorta of torn on my feelings, because i cared for her but i know that it was not going to last and i feel relieved. The break-up wasnt that bad, except for her crying, but now it is getting ridiculous. She has already started going out with her ex-boyfriend, which i really dont care about, and she still calls me. Now maybe it is me but when i break-up with someone i dont call them everyday. And that isn't the worst part, she still says "i love you" to me and gets mad when i dont say it back. Now maybe its just me again but i find that messed up, so if you have any words of advice leave me a comment because this is the most screwed up thing ever.

well its been three weeks and everything here in Cortland is pretty good. My roomates and floormates are amazing and im developing close friendships with a lot of people. College is more than i expected i think. Not only am i learning and doing things i enjoy while learning but i am having fun as well. Don't get e wrong i had fun in high school but this is a different kind of fun. The fun i have here is controlled by me. I control my time and do what i want, like in the middle of the week i can go out and play football, or go to a movie or party or just stay in and hang out. But in high school the only time i had complete freedom to do what i wanted with no stipulation was the weekend. So if anyone is worried about college or dont think it will be a good time, dont be. College is everything high school was and more.
I think i am going to lose my mind. i have been here for three weeks now and in those three weeks i haven't gotten to play hockey. I went home one weekend to play but we didnt have a game and this past weekend i was supposed to go home and play but i had no way home. Even if i dont play i want to go home to get my equipment just so i can fool around with it and keep it fresh. This weekend i might go home to play and next weekend is the championship. So soon, i hope, i will be on the ice. Hockey is my passion and three weeks is way to long to go without doing what you love.

Well i've ran out of personal blogs right now so i'll talk about addictions. I don't mean addictions to drugs, alcohol and tobacco, i'm talking about the worst addiction ever and that is to playstation. When you can't stop playing a game and when you're not playing you're thinking about playing and how to beat it. I thought i was bad when SOCOM 3 came out, which is a navy seals war game, but i have just been introduced to Guitar Hero. Guitar Hero is a spin off of Dance Dance Revolution except so much better. In Guitar Hero you play the guitar to classic rock songs and can unlock things like new guitars, skins and songs. I turned this game on and i was hooked and so is everybody that plays it. I'm hoping that it doesn't interfere with my college work. I'm pretty sure i have enough control but it does get pretty intense in my dorm while we're all playing it. Please if you know what I'm talking about subscribe to this blog and give me some of your thoughts.

One thing about college that is bad is that I left a lot of things at home. I have a niece that is turning 3 in Novemeber that lives with me and that i have seen grow up since she was born. I also have left the rest of my family and friends. But what really has been tough is that I have a girlfriend back at home. Now I really love this girl and she loves me back but it is gonna be hard to make this work. I have had friends do it and they have been together for 3 years so I know it can happen. I hope we can make it through because this girl means the world to me. I'm going home this weekend and I can't wait to see her, I mean we talk everyday but it is not the same. It will be rough with this college thing but I am completely sure that we are going to stay together. Because in the end love always prevails, now I know that this is pretty cliche but in this case it is the truth.

My name is Troy LaDue. I recently graduated from Brockport High School and now attending SUNY Cortland majoring in communications. I play hockey, well actually it is my life for the most part I wouldn't know what to do without it. I am extremely family and friend oriented. I have amazing friends, in fact 2 of my best friends and I call ourselves the tripod because if you knock out one of us we all fall. I have an amazing girlfriend that I truly love and miss so much while I'm away. Well that's all I can think of for right now. Check up for more posts.
